This is a good book that would be great if it were well-edited. You will likely get annoyed with some of the redundancy.
The fundamentals that she provides really are on point. I don't like that she has a product line. It has a few products that she felt were missing in the marketplace. I will add that she recommends a variety of products from a variety of brands based on her use of them so I don't feel like I am reading an ad for a product line as with another author.
This has to be approached with an open mind. I almost didn't borrow this book because of some of the negative reviews but I'm glad I did because I learned more about caring for my hair. If you're reading the book, you probably don't have the hair that you want. Don't dismiss a book simply because it is not in line what you're used to doing. If what you're used to doing were so great, wouldn't you have a strong, healthy, long head of hair?

Well, this book is an easy read. It is very repetitive. She does tend to rant and rave about others. Truly, this could have been a little pamphlet. To sum up her book - you need to wash your hair at least every 3 days, keep it moisturized, and take vitamins (because your hair and nails get the leftovers). And - of course - trimming does not grow your hair,
If you want some serious HEALTHY hair growth, check out this ongoing publication that is FREE (and works - I have 3/4 in. of new growth in 4 weeks). [...]

 Excellent Book, 2008-04-24
This is an excellent book for someone who is clueless about african american hair care. Very simple terminolgy and can easily be read in one day. This book will open your eyes to a lot of hair care myths and put you on the path to proper hair care.

I wish I did not purchase this book. Any relevant information in the book to the subject, Ultra Black Hair Growth, could have been condensed into two pages.

The Only Hair Care Book You'll Ever Need, 2008-04-09
I had come to the end of my ropes with my hair. It never grew past a certain length without breaking. I prayed, "God please send me an answer to my very bad hair day!" I came across Cathy's site and read her success story and the testimonies sent in by others. Well all those people can't be lying. Well I did order her book and did every thing to the "T". The results were amazing. After all these years, I found the magic potion to long beautiful black hair. I have posted my pictures as a testiment to how wonderful this book is. Saunya
