Ionil-T Therapeutic Coal Tar Shampoo
Helps eliminate dandruff problems due to seborrhea and psoriasis. Tar helps reduce the production of skin cells, giving you a healthier looking scalp. Reduces itching and flaking.
Contains the equivalent of 1% Coal Tar.
Always, remember that tar based products may discolor hair that is blonde, bleached or gray.
Directions: Wet hair, apply and massage into scalp. Let lather stand five minutes, then rinse. Repeat if necessary. For best results use at least twice a week or as directed by a physician.

This shampoo is difficult to find these days as most of the drugstores out there (especially the big chains) only carry the well known commercial products. I used to buy it from [..] but even they have discontinued it. I'm so glad to find it thru amazon. This product does a fantastic job of cleansing the scalp and stopping the oily build up and also the skin cell build up. Used several times a week you can get control over psoriasis and seborrhea of the scalp. Then you only have to use it about once a week and you can use other shampoos on other days. I find that it can be a bit drying so I use a heavy duty conditioner on the ends only (not on the scalp). One of my family members was even losing hair due to severe seborrhea and this shampoo together with B-complex vitamins helped stop the shedding.

I have spent hundreds of dollars on over the counter (Head and Shoulders, Selsun Blue, Burt's Bees, all-natural and internet "magic" cures) and prescription products for my psoriasis and seb derm without much relief but Ionil T did the trick. I saw a huge difference in just one use not only on my scalp but also on the scaly patches on my arms (I rubbed some on my patches while in the shower and then rinsed). Sure the smell takes some getting used to but I'm so pleased with the results, I just don't care about that.

DOES THE JOB, 2007-06-14
No latter build up which leads you to believe it does not work. It works alot better for me than blue selson or shoulders and head. Worth the extra money.
